We have some exciting news to share!!
We are thrilled to share that DOCO has been awarded a grant to remodel and expand our Blessing Box!
Our Blessing Box has become an important resource for families throughout our community, and we’re incredibly grateful that this grant will allow us to make it larger, more accessible, and better able to meet the growing need.
As many of you know, Douglas County is one of the most economically challenged counties in Missouri. Every day, we see neighbors helping neighbors, and that’s exactly what this project is all about – letting YOU be part of the solution.
To celebrate the grand opening of our expanded Blessing Box, we’re asking our amazing community to help us fill it!
Operation Bless our Box begins tomorrow!
We’re going to be collecting donations of:
– Non-perishable food items
– Hygiene products
– Baby Supplies (We’re talking diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, toiletries, etc…)
We’re also having a contest! While collecting items over the next 10 days, we will be “filling shelves”. For every shelf filled, we will celebrate by drawing one donor to receive a FREE Lead with Kindness t-shirt! You’ll receive one entry per donation visit!
Not able to participate with donations? You’ll also receive an entry for sharing this post!
No time to shop? You can bring by monetary donations and our fabulous disabled employees will go shopping for you!
Donations can be dropped off at DOCO (inside – please do NOT put in the Blessing Box if you want an entry. It MUST come inside!) during regular business hours of Monday through Thursday 8a-5p! Our tentative grand opening will be Thursday, July 23rd. The Blessing Box WILL be closed during the construction which starts Tuesday, July 21st.
Together, we can make sure our newly expanded Blessing Box opens overflowing with hope, kindness, and practical support for local families.
